Groningen, the Netherlands – April, 2026 Innocore has strengthened its in-house analytical capabilities with the installation of a new JEOL JSM-IT210 Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM). The new system provides higher-resolution imaging, enhanced particle analysis, and a more efficient analytical workflow.
The increased resolution enables Innocore’s scientists to examine formulations and particle morphology in greater detail. This is particularly relevant for the characterization of microsphere-based long-acting injectable (LAI) formulations, where insights into particle morphology and surface characteristics drive further optimization of Innocore’s, sustained release drug products. Combined with other analytical data, SEM imaging supports a more comprehensive understanding of formulation characteristics and provides clients with a clearer picture of their drug product.
A key advantage of the new SEM is its combination of detectors, enabling both the detection and identification of foreign particles. Faster acquisition of high-resolution images also increases sample throughput, allowing more samples to be analyzed efficiently without compromising image quality. This strengthens Innocore’s troubleshooting capabilities and allows unexpected findings to be investigated more efficiently.
